Led by a stifling defense that gave up only 269 yards of total offense, the Dragons defeated the Coppell Cowboys 27-10 at Dragon Stadium. Coppells lone touchdown came early in the fourth quarter as running back Luke Jenner (31-162 yards) ran up the middle of the defense. Highly Touted Coppell QB Tyler Zabojnik was held to 10-18 passing for only 94 yards.
On the other side of the ball Kenny Hill threw 23-29 for 190 yards (79.3%) primarily to senior WR Peyton Williams who had 14 receptions for 95 yards. The Dragons did not complete a passing TD, but Hill ran for 2 TDs and sophomore Steven Bergmark added another in an equally balanced scheme where the Dragons rushed 28 times and passed on 29 plays.
The Dragons next opponent is Keller Central (6-1) and is set for Thursday 10/20 7:00 pm at Keller ISD's Athletic Complex.
