GRACE in need of year-end gifts for needy families

Submitted by Shonda Schaefer

Ordinarily December is the month GRACE receives its largest gifts of cash contributions which help sustain the organization during the leaner spring and summer months.  However, to date, GRACE has only received about 17% of its budgeted contributions which is, according to GRACE Executive Director Shonda Schaefer, “very disturbing and quite worrisome!”

Since September, the number of new clients has climbed 19% over last year during the same time frame.  This increase translates to thousands of dollars in additional requests for rent and emergency assistance each month.

While material donations for the Food Pantry and Clothing Room are steady and much appreciated, the volume of new clients demand that GRACE has funds to purchase the additional food, clothing and other basic needs to provide for these beleaguered families.

Quite simply, GRACE is struggling and needs your help.  If you are thinking of making a charitable gift to GRACE, please do so as soon as possible.  If you've made a gift to GRACE this year, then please consider giving another gift to help them through this very critical time.

Schaefer sums up the spirit of GRACE when she says, “In our 25 years, we have been so fortunate in believing--and have been proven time and time again--that the Lord will provide for this mission.  Given the times and economic conditions, please let Him guide your generous hand. Please give so that we can help all of those who come to GRACE.”
