Rachel’s Rally and Relay for Life Southlake is set to return to the track behind Carroll High School on Friday, May 3.  Rachel’s Rally is Carroll ISD’s year-end event celebrating kindness and compassion combined with Relay for Life Southlake – the city’s largest overnight cancer fundraiser. This year’s committee is expecting thousands of people to attend the 4th annual fundraiser benefitting the American Cancer Society.

First organized by CISD students who were members of the Friends of Rachel Club three years ago, Relay for Life Southlake honors those who battle cancer each day.  Over the span of 12 hours, team members take turns walking the track while those not walking enjoy around-the-clock activities in a festive atmosphere that includes team fundraising and live entertainment.

Face painting, pie throwing, a photo booth and an all-new dodgeball tournament are a few fundraising activities available for participants.  An assortment of entertainers will perform for the crowd including this year’s headliner, Griffin House.  Also returning this year is the popular Mr. Relay Pageant, silent auction and canned food drive.

In a special Luminaria Celebration, luminaries will be lit in honor of and in memory of those touched by cancer and will conclude with a slideshow presentation featuring cancer survivors and those lost to cancer.  Luminaries are still available for purchase the night of the event or by visiting Relay for Life Southlake.

To make a donation or join a team, visit Relay for Life Southlake.

In case of a rainout, the entire event will move to Saturday, May 4 on the same overnight schedule unless weather persists, and then an abbreviated event will take place on Sunday, May 5 from 1-8 p.m.  To see the complete schedule, rules and event details, visit My Southlake News.
