In an election focusing much discussion on finance, voters elected Matt Kormann and Chris Archer to Place 6 and Place 7 on the Carroll Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 11.

Earning 60 percent of the vote in Saturday’s election, Kormann and Archer defeated opponents Sam Torolopoulos and Jim Palazzo, respectively.  There are 19,859 registered voters in Carroll ISD, and with 2,599 ballots cast, this represents a voter turnout of approximately 13 percent.

On May 20, totals will be canvassed by CISD School Board officials beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected trustees Kormann and Archer.  After the swearing-in, a reception for the new trustees and their families will be hosted by CISD.
