Courtney Kriegshauser is one of the most decorated Dragons in school history with eight UIL medals and several district and state titles. From 2011–2013, she led the cross-country team to back-to-back 5A championships. This past year, the cross-country team also won the 2012 Nike Cross Nationals runner-up title. This year, Courtney was named the 2013 Dragon Athlete of the Year. She was also a member of the yearbook staff, NHS and the Quill and Scroll Society, among many others. Courtney will continue her running career at Vanderbilt University on an athletic scholarship starting in the fall.
Laura Hill served as a Southlake City Council member from 2006–2011 before stepping down due to Southlake’s two-term consecutive limit, but now she has returned. In her time outside the council, Laura has been involved with several organizations and created her own called Students and Parents Against Risks to our Kids (SPARK). The organization’s goal is to educate and facilitate discussion about issues that youth encounter. During her two-year removal from city council, Laura served as a board chair for the Recovery Resource Council of Tarrant County and will lead our great city again as a new board member. Laura has received many awards in our community over the years, and we are proud to recognize her as a True Performer.
