2014 Jaguar XFR-S
Limited Edition 100 Units for 2014
What’s hot just keeps getting hotter. With the recent unveiling of its 2014 roster, Jaguar proudly brought to life its most age-defying and dynamic lineup in years. The carmaker kicked off its recent design resurgence with the 2014 Jaguar F-Type, a stunning convertible that returned the automaker to the A-list. But it’s the XFR-S Jaguar — a midsize sedan that can completely crush any mid-life crisis — that is wowing car aficionados.
The XF series of sedans makes for a sporty mid-size lot with enhanced design features. For 2014, the XFR-S takes its rightful place at the head of the table. A collector’s item in limited edition, only 100 vehicles will be released in the United States.
Propelled by a mammoth 550-hp, supercharged 5-liter V8 engine, this sedan on steroids can reach top speeds of 186 mph, making it one of the fastest of its kind in the world. Aerodynamic upgrades help this speed demon with substantially reduced lift while the model’s firmer chassis gives it a well-tuned and track-inspired drivability. With the functionally enhanced exterior upgrades also comes a design as eye-popping as the drive is heart-pounding. Perhaps the best example is the car’s optional yet more-than-ornamental rear spoiler. Available in French Racing blue and Italian Racing red, it’s easy to see where the XFR-S design inspiration comes from.
Form, function and luxurious design impressively come together again on the inside where Jaguar’s Interior Sport Pack features an 18-way driver seat and 14-way passenger seat and a dashboard artfully presented with contrasting stitching in soft grain leather. Blind spot monitors, adaptive front lights, voice control and keyless entry are noteworthy embellishments that complete an extraordinary XFR-S experience.
In short supply, the MSRP of $99,895 is a reasonable if not completely reachable figure for such a first-rate vehicle.
