2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

Starting with the Dodge Viper SRT (street and racing technology), the Chrysler brand has utilized an impressive product development formula maximizing the powertrain, overall ride, braking, aggressive styling and race-inspired interiors that have become their proven hallmarks of performance. With ramped-up mechanics and a re-charged new look, even the high style pundits at Esquire magazine had to take notice of the new and improved 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. And after an exhaustive review, they gave it the SUV of the Year title in the magazine’s annual roundup of high performing vehicles.

The once stale Grand Cherokee is now fraught with a host of new technologies and stylings for the 2014 model year. Wide-ranging, they include everything from an all-new, electronic eight-speed automatic transmission to hardware and software upgrades that make this a practical yet fun-to-drive automobile.

Powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 with Fuel Saver Technology, this SUV delivers 470 horsepower and greatly enhanced towing performance of 7,200 pounds — a 44-percent improvement over the 5,000-pound towing capacity from the previous model. Towing a boat will turn heads, but so will the Grand Cherokee’s new and improved look, which is much more assertive thanks to a burly new grille, rear spoiler and signature LED character lamp treatments.

Inside, Grand Cherokee SRT customers will enjoy a new 8.4-inch touchscreen display to stay in tune with performance and entertainment. Race enthusiasts will appreciate the new launch control button, which is situated behind the T-handle shifter. The new SRT-exclusive three-spoke, heated steering wheel is also more ergonomically efficient and includes paddle shifters, along with a host of comfort, convenience and connectivity controls.

The 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT joins Chrysler’s offerings of world-class performance vehicles, which include the 300 SRT, Dodge Challenger SRT, Dodge Charger SRT and the flagship SRT Viper, all with the latest in safety technologies and creature comforts.
