Southlake’s own Kelsey Walton is strutting the red carpet at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The seven-year-old actress from Johnson Elementary is featured in a short film called Dig. Dallas director Toby Halbrooks chose Kelsey as one of fourth children to be in this film.

Dig focuses on a young girl watching her father dig a hole in their backyard. The neighborhood comes to watch her father because they are mesmerized about his purpose.

Out of more than 8,100 films submitted to The Sundance Film Festival this year, Dig was selected as one of 66 films.

Dig was also selected to not only premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, but is also on YouTube in a promotion.

“It can be watched be those in Southlake as it is being shown in Utah,” says Kelsey’s mom Nancy Lesky.

The 10-minute short film can be viewed below.
