HMK Will Set up Shop in Southlake Town Square

A new store concept from Hallmark Cards called HMK will be coming to Southlake Town Square, according to Retail Properties of America. HMK is a boutique-style retail experience featuring various items, including home décor, children’s gifts, accessories and Hallmark greeting cards. The store is focused on in-store personalization, which uses the latest technology that appeals to tech-savvy shoppers.

The Southlake Town Square HMK location will be the first in Texas and the second retail location nationwide.

"Southlake Town Square is known for attracting new concepts early, such as the first Boston Proper and the first Soft Surroundings in Texas," says Jason Kasal, vice president, senior leasing director, south region. "We are excited to be home to the first HMK in Texas and think their personalization and customization will really appeal to our customers."

HMK is expected to open at Southlake Town Square early this month.

Colleyville Welcomes New Developments, Retailers

If there's one thing we can expect in Tarrant County, it's the expansion and creation of new restaurants and retailers. Colleyville is certainly part of this development. The city recently announced a well of new dining and shopping options. The biggest retailer breaking ground this summer is Whole Foods Market, which announced a plan to open a 40,000-square-foot store in the Village Park shopping center.
The public/private partnership between the city and Centennial Real Estate Company — responsible for the Whole Foods Market location — also ensured an $18 million redevelopment of the aging center.

Signs of construction seem to be everywhere you look throughout the shopping center, which was rebranded "Colleyville Downs" in honor of the city's former horseracing track, Ross Downs.

Consequently, the Whole Foods Market announcement fostered interest in neighboring properties. As a result, a new development called Colleyville Stampede is underway. Smashburger has already signed on as a tenant.

Centennial Real Estate has also purchased other land in the area, including the space currently occupied by Rice King Express and Sonic . These locations are slated for redevelopment in preparation for future tenants. New businesses set to open this year in addition to Whole Foods Market include Matt’s Tex Mex, Einstein Bros. Bagels and Zoe’s Kitchen.
