Dave and Mary Garner, owners of the popularbrWildwood Grill in Southlake, werebrlooking to expand their restaurant portfolio, but they didn’t have to go far. Inbrfact, just across the parking lot in Wyndham Plaza to Fish City Grill, where they became the new franchisebrowners in January.
According to Dave Garner, who is currentlybracting as general manager and overseeing daily operations at Fish City Grill,brit was an easy decision to expand their presence in the Southlake dining scene.
“We have been franchisees of Fish City Grill since 2005brand love being here in this community,” says Garner, noting they also operate abrlocation at Firewheel Town Center in Garland. “It was a natural fit for thebrfranchisor and when the opportunity for us to get this location came up, webrjumped at it.”
Since taking over thebrSouthlake location, Garner has hired new staff and completed a $50,000brrenovation that includes new paint, artwork, booths and tables, and newbrequipment to improve the kitchen and bar operations. In addition, new furniture, signage and plants have beenbrplaced outside the front entrance for a more welcoming appearance.
The menu also got abrmakeover with new, seasonal additions such as crawfish, Gulf and east coastbroysters on the half shell, and other fresh seafood selections. However,brmany popular favorites remain on thebrmenu including fish tacos, Gulf shrimp and the renowned oyster nachos which arebrfeatured every Wednesday for $5.00.brAlso popular are the weekly chalkboard specials that range from all-you-can-eatbrAlaskan snow crab to sea scallop withbrlemon scented rice and marinated sliced tomatoes.
