One of the best ways to pay it forward is by honoring those who dedicate their time to serving others.

Call A Ride of Southlake (CARS) will present their Volunteer Appreciation Event at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 at Timarron Country Club. Special guest speakers during the event will include Southlake Mayor John Terrell and County Commissioner Gary Fickes

The not-for-profit corporation will honor their volunteer drivers who have provided more than 2,000 trips and driven more than 13,000 miles by aiding Southlake senior citizens and disabled adults. CARS provides free transportation for medical, dental and social trips.

Volunteers  — who provide their own vehicles and fuel — will be acknowledged for their efforts and presented gift bags that will include assorted gift certificates donated by local businesses.
