Dragon Water Polo Teams Win Big at Region Championships

Congratulations to both the Southlake Carroll Women and Men's Varsity Water Polo teams who competed in the TISCA North Region Championships this past weekend. 

Carroll finished third after besting Denton-Ryan in double overtime. The Lady Dragons continued their domination of the North Region, winning a hard fought game over Rockwall to claim first place. 

Both teams qualified for the State Championships this upcoming weekend in Austin. Special recognition goes to the following athletes who were named to the all-region team.

Sarah Neason - 1st Team

Erin Weisert - 1st Team

Katie Nedrow - 2nd Team 

Gabi Mondragon - 2nd Team

Zach Lowery - 2nd Team

Kyle McCall - 2nd Team

Ashley Baker - Honorable Mention

Maddie Hall - Honorable Mention

Ana Warner - Honorable Mention

Nate Winkler - Honorable Mention

Lowery, Warner, Weisert and Winkler were the only Freshman in the North Region who were named to the All-Region team.

Additionally, Coach Joespeh Yglesia was named Coach of the Year of Women's Teams.

Good luck to both teams as they head to State this weekend in Austin.
