Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball player Sophomore Haley Hallgren recently competed in the FIVB Under-17 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Acapulco, Mexico. Starting out the competition seeded as No. 28, the pair held their own and advanced to the gold medal match held on July 20. In the championship round Hallgren and her teammate, Joy Dennis, were pitted against fellow U.S. players, and came up short taking home the silver medal.

Former Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball player Cat McCoy spent her summer playing and traveling with the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team. McCoy helped the United States win gold in the Under 20 NORCECA Continental Championship in a straight-set victory against Cuba on July 13.
