North Texas Giving Day Exceeds Record

Oct 16, 2014 10:19AM ● Published by Dia

The 6th Annual North Texas Giving Day was a huge success in September, exceeding it’s own record set in 2013 by $1 million. In 18 hours more than $26.3 million was raised through community-wide events and nonprofit performances. More than 1,580 nonprofits benefitted from more than 98,000 donations. Locally, GRACE had 87 donations totaling $21,553, and Metroport Meals on Wheels had 72 donations totaling $11,340.

From 6 a.m. to midnight Sept. 18, donations poured in from all 50 states, six territories and more than 28 countries. Costume-clad nonprofit representatives were spotted across the community drumming up grassroots support for their causes. Donors of all ages participated in the festivities, including kids who gave their time and loose change at the inaugural Kids Give.
