excerpt from From USA Today High School Sports

Who has the best football program in the country?  USA TODAY (who has ranked Dragon Football currently at #19 in the nation) wants to know. They have already chosen Southlake Carroll as one of the 5 state finalists in their Best Football Program 2014 contest.  From here, we need to share our Dragon Pride and tally the popular vote that will help put the program over the top for the contest’s top prize.

Votefor Southlake now.  Vote for Southlake Often.

They are up against Allen, DeSoto, Katy and Euless.

Contestinfo from USA Today’s Website below:

The next installment of the “Best Of” contest series will be the 2014 Best Football Program.  Each state, as well as Washington D.C., will have five representative schools. The contest will start with 255 schools, with the overall strength of all the individual football programs as the criteria for inclusion.

Criteria:

•   On-field success (all levels)

•   Coaching/Player Development

•   Fans/Attendance (community support)

•   Facilities/Training/Uniforms

There will be three rounds of voting:

Round Dates:

State: Nov. 10 – Nov. 19

Regional: Nov. 20 – Dec. 1

National: Dec. 2 – Dec. 10

State Round – Begins at 12 p.m. (ET) Nov. 10, 2014 and ends at 2 p.m. (ET) Nov. 19.  At the end of the first round, the 51 schools with the most votes in each state will advance to the Regional Voting, along with the top five schools that received the highest number of votes, but did not win their region. A total of 56 schools advance to the regional round.

Semifinal Round – Begins at 12 p.m. (ET) Nov. 20, 2014 and ends at 2 p.m. (ET) Dec. 1. The schools that receive the highest number of eligible votes from each region (one per region) will advance to the final round. The next two highest vote getters (no matter what region) will receive a wild card, and advance to the final round. Ten total schools will advance to the final round.

Final Round - Begins at 12 p.m. (ET) Dec. 2, 2014 and ends at 2:00 p.m. (E.T.) Dec. 10. The school that receives the highest number of eligible votes from the final voting round will be the winner.
