Dec 02, 2014 12:35PM ● By Kevin

Jack Johnson Elementary School’s 10th Annual Jogging for Johnson 1-Mile Fun Run and 5k is being held on Dec. 6 at CISD - Johnson Elementary School - Southlake, TX. Packet pickup begins on Thursday and Friday before the race in the school's lobby. Racers can pick up their packets before school between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., or after school between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. On race day, people can register for the race, pick up packets, timing chips and bibs starting at 7:30 a.m. Online registration closes Dec. 3 at 11:59 p.m.

After the race, tickets can be purchased for a light breakfast, fun games, petting zoo, pony rides and a cakewalk.

For the past ten years, this event has been instrumental in raising funds for the school and inspiring the kids to lead a healthy and active lifestyle, according to Lisa Gunter. As Jack Johnson PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year, this event has helped support numerous programs and purchase needed items for the school.

PTO President Hyke Link raves, “We love this event! Our kids love running the race and earning miles for the mile club. We continue to have great support from the faculty, administration and families every year!”

The 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5k starts at 9. For more information and to register for this event, visit
