Get ready to break out your winter wear… a 9-degree icy wonderland has came to town now through Jan. 3! Don’t worry, it’s all part of the Gaylord Texan Resort’s Lone Star Christmas, an annual holiday extravaganza featuring two million twinkling lights, 15,000 ornaments, a 54-foottall Christmas tree, an 8-foot-tall gingerbread house, Santa’s Wild Workshop Snow Tubing and of course, the infamous ICE! exhibit. This year, the frozen spectacular will follow the story of our favorite snowman, Frosty, on his quest to reach the North Pole. Bundle up and enjoy the retelling of this holiday classic, brought to life through two million pounds of ice intricately crafted by talented artisans from Harbin, China —home of the International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival.
If you’ve experienced ICE! in previous years, you already know what an amazing sight it is to see. But this year, there’s an even bigger treat in store as “The Frostbite Factory” allows ICE! guests to watch the masterful art carvers in action, as they create sculptures right before your eyes. Bring the whole family out for a holiday event that won’t soon be forgotten, all concluded by a breathtaking Nativity scene that highlights the true meaning of Christmas.
Planning to attend ICE! featuring Frosty the Snowman? Calf length, hooded winter coats are provided upon arrival, but don’t forget to come prepared with long pants, close-toed shoes, hats and gloves. You’ll have a chance to warm up with hot cocoa after the main event, but not before taking a few runs down the two-storytall ice slides!
