American Airlines will reward its customers with a bonus mile promotion in 2015, making the AAdvantage program the most generous in the industry, according to a recent press release. The promotion, offered by the Fort Worth-based company, will present the opportunity for AAdvantage® and Dividend Miles® members to earn more miles based on the distance flown, the fare purchased and the member’s elite status level.
“As the largest airline in the world, with a global network that spans 54 countries, our frequent flyer program must also be the best in the business," said Suzanne Rubin, president of the AAdvantage Loyalty Program. "A mile flown continues to be a mile earned in AAdvantage.”
Beginning Jan. 1, American will reward customers that are members of either the AAdvantage or Dividend Miles programs with bonus miles for purchased First or Business Class tickets on all eligible flights marketed or operated by American or US Airways. The promotion applies to all travel between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2015.
The promotion applies to any AAdvantage member, elite status or not, according to spokesperson Laura Nedbal.
"The biggest thing for anyone in Dallas-Fort Worth is we have a lot of international hubs," Nedbal said. "This being their main hub, they have the opportunity to receive a lot more miles from this bonus promotion."
The bonus miles, which were not available in 2014, are earned on top of regular miles earned through the normal program.
Nedbal concluded this is another opportunity to reward customers with great benefits, especially with the company investing more than $2 billion in 2015 in order to give customers a world-class traveling experience.
