It all began with the single “Harder to Breathe” from their first album, which quickly climbed the charts and garnered the band a Grammy nod for Best New Artist. Now, three Grammy Awards later, Maroon 5 is at the top of their game. The band signed with Interscope records in 2014, and includes keyboardist and backing vocalist PJ Morton with guitarist James Valentine, guitarist and vocalist Jesse Carmichael, bass guitarist Mickey Madden and drummer Matt Flynn. Of course, leading the charge is frontman and lead singer Adam Levine, most widely recognized for his role as a judge on NBC’s The Voice since its inception. Fans of the show may remember Levine’s two season wins—and an extraordinarily close second place during season season last December, when his team represented three of the four finalists. But for now, Levine is celebrating his reign as champion of the stage alongside his five bandmates, two who teamed up with him in high school initially as Kara’s Flowers. They’ve come a long way since then, and it’s obvious they won’t be stopping anytime soon.
