Southlake Water Polo Team Members Compete in California

UPDATE: Zachary Lowry has made it to next round
of the Olympic Development Program and will compete in Orange County March 27-30. This year they only chose five men from the Southwest Zone, and he was one of them.
Southlake will be represented at the 2015 USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP) Boy's National Championship this weekend in Riverside, California.
The ODP serves as a forum to identify and develop athletes to represent the USA Water Polo throughout domestic and international competitions. The three-day event features athletes representing 13 geographic zones across the United States.
Zachary Lowery and Nate Winkler, who play on the CSHS Varsity Water Polo team and are members of the Southlake/Grapevine Thunder Water Polo Boy’s Varsity Team, will be representing the Southwest Zone at the national championship. The Southwest Zone team includes athletes from North Texas as well as from the Houston and Austin areas.
On the girls’ side, Sophia Torres, Gabi Gervasi and Erin Weisert, also members of the CSHS Varsity Water Polo team and Southlake/Grapevine Thunder Water Polo Girl’s Varsity Team, will compete at the Girl’s National Championship, which will be held the weekend of March 14.
All five players represented Southlake/Grapevine Thunder Water Polo Varsity Team at the National Junior Olympics this past August at Stanford University.
