The Cole Malone Memorial Fund has already raised thousands to support the young man's family in their time of need.

A celebration of the life of James Colbert “Cole” Malone took place Monday, April 13, at 4:30 pm at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake. Malone, who was a 16-year-old sophomore at Carroll High School at the time of his passing, died April 7 from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to the Cole Malone Memorial Fund through Frost Bank, which has raised more than $37,000 towards a $46,000 goal to help cover Cole’s medical and funeral expenses. Any remaining funds will be put towards scouting scholarships and education. Donations in Cole’s memory may also be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
