On April 18, more than 60 students and faculty members at Carroll Middle School participated in the St. Jude Classic, a three-on-three charity soccer tournament benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The event, organized by football coach and Outdoor Education teacher, Zach Sellers, raised nearly $1,500 for St. Jude, one of the world’s premiere pediatric treatment and research centers.
“The St. Jude Classic is an exciting event that lets our students and athletes have some fun for a good cause,” says Sellers. “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a blessing to so many families, and it’s rewarding to be able to give something back.”
Each team, comprised of four players each, contributed a $60 entry fee to participate. Three Carroll Middle School faculty members, including Sellers, also participated. Students had fun with the event, developing creative team names and custom t-shirts.
