Kirby’s Steakhouse will hold a scotch tasting event on July 7 to benefit Heroes for Children, a non-profit organization that provides social and financial assistance to families with a child battling cancer.

Kirby’s invites guests from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for complimentary appetizers and a special tasting of Glenfiddich finest scotches, featuring a sample of the 12-year, 15-year Solera and 18-year editions. Featured scotches will be available for purchase at a 50-percent discount that night only.

Tickets are available for $20, and $5 from each ticket will go back to Heroes for Children. Additionally, Kirby’s offers a chance to “sip for a cause throughout the entire summer.” With the purchase of a Classic Cosmopolitan, Dark ‘n’ Stormy or Monkey Business cocktail, the restaurant will donate $1 back to the organization through August 31.

Since 2005, Heroes for Children has helped alleviate the burden on families with a child fighting cancer. Over the past 10 years, more than $5 million has been given to 4,200 families.
