October 6, 2015, is National Night Out, and Carillon is making preparations for an unforgettable event. The evening will kick off at The Oasis with a Carillon neighborhood photo at 6 p.m. All children who participate in the neighborhood photo will receive a coloring book (while supplies last).
Once the snapshot is taken, residents will return to their neighborhoods for neighborhood block parties. The Social Committee (currently at 20 members) and Block Captains (currently at 17 members), have arranged to have a fire engine, police car and police motorcycle along with some police officers and firefighters rotating throughout various spots in Carillon. It’s a great opportunity for children to look at the equipment, meet first responders and say thank you.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Last year, more than 16,000 communities and 38 million neighbors took part in this event. To learn more, visit NATW.org.
