If you have a penchant for pizza (and don’t we all?), you’ll want to try SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza. It turns spheres of dough into mouth-watering masterpieces. Each crispy, thin-crust pizza is packed with flavorful toppings that are anything but ordinary. This isn’t something you’d peel out of a cardboard box; this is the good stuff. This is gourmet pizza at its best.
While you can certainly keep your pie selection simple, the toppings at SPIN! are too interesting to pass up. You can get everything from Verdure Arrosti (roasted veggies) to fig onion marmalade and crushed glazed pecans.
No matter which toppings you choose, you can count on them being perfectly seasoned. “We use fresh herbs, which makes a huge difference,” says Chef Michael Smith. “We strive to season every single ingredient, and when it comes together in a pie, it’s the perfect blend. We call it ‘umami.’ It’s a fifth-taste thing the Japanese invented. Umami is something that’s inherently good.”
The 12-inch pies are as large as a dinner plate, so bring your appetite. If you want to size down your pizza, go for the Mini Mia option. You get a six-inch pie with a side salad or cup of soup.
That’s what we enjoyed when we stopped in for lunch. Everyone in our group sampled different salads and pizzas, and when it came to the pies, everyone agreed that the crust was a perfect balance of crispy and chewy.
You can upgrade your crust to gluten-free or whole- wheat, and you have two choices when it comes to sauces: a zesty red sauce and a white sauce, which is actually a roasted garlic olive oil glaze.
As for the salads, the Sonoma was a standout. It’s made with spinach, grapes, raisins and goat cheese. Thin slices of apple were artfully arranged on top, along with a dollop of chopped, glazed pecans and a drizzle of Blood Orange vinaigrette.
When it comes to beverages, there are many pizza- perfect pairings. Wines by the glass are rotated daily, or pick from a variety of craft beers or three sangria flavors: red, white or Blood Orange.
Because every meal should conclude with a little dolce, we also treated ourselves to hand-scooped cups of premium gelato (there were several crave-worthy flavors on hand). The pistachio gelato was dense and creamy with hunks of cold, chewy pistachios interspersed throughout.
Here at this fast-casual restaurant, you walk in, order your pizza, pay and grab a spot to enjoy your meal. The space is bright and lively, perfect for a weekday lunch or a weekend meal with your family. There’s something for everybody, though you can never go wrong with SPIN!’s specialty: handmade, artisan pizza.
