Here’s Where to Make Your Own Hand-Blown Glass Pumpkin

Oct 02, 2015 08:10AM ● By Audrey Sellers

If you want to start a hands-on Halloween tradition this year, Vetro Glassblowing Studio and Gallery, located in historic downtown Grapevine, has an idea for you: Come make your own hand-blown glass pumpkin.

The studio is fired up for fall with its help-create events, which allow participants to experience the ancient art of glass blowing. Here’s how it works: You select colors from four pre-selected mixes, apply the colors to the hot molten glass gather, heat the colors in the 2,000-degree furnace (participants age 14 and up), and you stay by the artist while he or she blows out your glass pumpkin.

Pumpkins are available for pick up the next business day after 3 p.m., and pumpkins created on Saturday will be available the following Tuesday.

Check out the schedule:

Saturday, October 10 – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, October 17 – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday, October 23 – 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
