It was the adventure of abrlifetime, and now students from Liberty Christian School are back to tell aboutbrit. The school's Solis Bellator (Sun Warrior) team competed in the World Solar Challenge brfinishing in second place in the Adventure Class.
Not only did this teambraccomplish a mammoth task by trekking across Australia from North to South in abrteam-built solar car, but they boast having the youngest team member ever tobrcompete in the World Solar Challenge. Freshman Austin Hunt (front right in thebrpicture) is 14 years old.
The team was also one ofbronly three high school teams joining the ranks of global teams and universitiesbrsuch as MIT, Stanford, Cambridge and University of Michigan (who came in fourthbrbehind two Dutch teams and one Japanese team). The two other high school teamsbrwere from Japan and Houston, Mississippi.
