Visions of sugar plums will be dancing in your head on December 5 – that’s when the International Ballet Theater (IBT) is hosting its Nutcracker Performances. Shows are at 2 and 5 p.m. at the Dupree Theater at the Irving Arts Center. Studio A Dance in Southlake is the official home of IBT.
“Nutcracker Sweet: Twist on a Traditional Tale” will be an entertaining performance for all ages, with a creative script to match the beauty of the ballet. Dancers from Studio A and beyond auditioned for roles, with professional Principal Dancers, Harry Feril (Bruce Wood Dance Project) and Yulia Ilina (Russian trained ballerina), joining the troupe.
To further celebrate the holiday season with everything Nutcracker, IBT is hosting its 1st Annual Nutcracker Benefit Tea on November 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Studio A, which will be transformed into a winter wonderland with Clara’s Tea Room, Texas Sweet Tea Room, Land of the Sweets/Candy Cane Room, IBT Boutique and Silent Auction, and Photo Room with holiday setting complete with ballerinas. All are invited to this holiday dress-up occasion. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite.com or at Client Services at Studio A Dance.
