On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Carroll Dragon Marching Band received the highest possible ratings at the Region 24 UIL marching contest, held at Tommy Standridge Stadium in Carrollton, according to an article on MySouthlakeNews. The band was awarded “Superior – 1st Divisions” from all 3 judges.

The competition judges spoke very highly of the Carroll Dragon Marching Band, calling them a “very fine ensemble – brass sound is great, superb woodwinds, and great oriental percussion.” Additional judges commented that the “band has superb marching fundamentals” and a “wonderful visual/drill design.”

The Region 24 UIL competition marks the third consecutive weekend that the Dragon Marching Band had participated in an area competition. This was the band's final competition of the year, as the Duncanville Marching Invitational was canceled due to inclement weather.
