We've recently seen a few "castle-mansions" pop up for sale around town. First, we saw this gigantic wonder on North White Chapel Boulevard hit the market for $4,900,000. This Home Can Store More Than 12 Vehicles and is still for sale at the same list price. Next, a "cheaper" option hit the market over on Burney Lane for $2,200,000. That Castle-Mansion Features Wine Cellar, Gym, Theatre and More, and has actually gone up in asking price, now listed for $2,500,000.

Just last week, news of another Southlake castle hitting the market dropped, and gained some traction thousands of miles away. Vox Media's Curbed.com featured the $4,990,000 gem last Wednesday. Then, the Houston Chronicle followed up, highlighting the 12,531-square-foot beast.

According to the Realtor.com listing...

"Castle-style w-ornate wooden craftsmanship. Iron doors lead into spacious entry w-curved stairways & elegant dome ceiling. Open floor plan w-multiple living areas, media room, oversized 4-car garage w- full kitchen & outdoor areas. Gourmet kitchen w-full amenities & walk-in prep pantry. Lavish bedrooms & opulent master w- attached sitting room & bath containing his and her space, grand shower w-turret-style ceiling & centralized jetted tub."

The European-inspired mansion features 6 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, 2 partial baths, and was built in 2007. The building sits on a 7.93-acre lot within Carroll ISD.

If you can afford to put down 20 percent on the house (just under $1 million), then your 30-year mortgage at today's going rate of 3.95 percent would average a bill of almost $32,000 per month.

Comments were not favorable between the two articles featuring the listing, with a few of the complaints mentioning the property's lack of a pool.
