Work has begun on Southlake’s new office project, Granite Place at Southlake Town Square.  The seven-story, 160,733-square-foot office tower will be located on Highway 114 just east of North Carroll Boulevard next to the Hilton Southlake. It’s slated to have an attached parking garage, on-site fitness center, meeting facility and an upscale restaurant.

Southlake Mayor Laura Hill told MySouthlakeNews.com, “The Granite building is a tremendous project for the City. It really is beginning the transformation of the Highway 114 corridor into an upscale office environment. The employees in this building will greatly support our Town Square retailers and restaurants on a daily basis.”

Office buildings are typically classified into one of three categories: Class A, Class B or Class C. Granite Place is a Class-A building, which means it won’t be anything less than the best. AreaDevelopment.com says that Class-A buildings “represent the newest and highest quality buildings in their market. They are generally the best-looking buildings with the best construction, and possess high-quality building infrastructure. Class-A buildings also are well located, have good access and are professionally managed. As a result of this, they attract the highest quality tenants and also command the highest rents.”

Southlake Economic Development and Tourism Director, Shannon Hamons, said that the completed building is expected to bring several companies and more than 400 jobs to the community. He isn’t concerned with any major traffic impacts since entry and exit from the garage will be from the adjacent service road and not through Town Square.

Granite Place is expected to be completed in December 2016. Want to keep up with the latest on the development? Click here to see up-to-date video images of construction.
