ThebrAPEX Arts League is pleased to announce that the University of North Texas' The One O'Clock Lab Band will perform in concert at the 8th annual Apex Jazz Festival on Saturday,brFebruary 27 at 7 p.m., at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 SouthbrWhite’s Chapel Boulevard, Southlake.
Threebrhigh school jazz bands will open the program, performing commissioned piecesbrwritten by composition students at UNT. The High School bands are the Carroll Jazz Orchestra (Carroll Senior HighbrSchool, Southlake), the Paschal Jazz Ensemble (R.L. Paschal High School, Ft. Worth), and the Southwest High School JazzbrBand (Southwest High School, Ft. Worth).
Under the direction of Jay Saunders,brThe One O'Clock is the premier performing jazz ensemble from thebrinternationally acclaimed University of North Texas' Jazz Studies Program. ThebrOne O'Clock is a seven time Grammy-nominated ensemble and has produced a multitudebrof great composers, performers and educators over the years, recording morebrthan 60 albums in its tenure.
