Southlake Carroll Swimming
About the Team

When talking about successful high school sports programs across the nation, Southlake Carroll’s swimming and diving has epitomized true dominance at the high school level. Since 2010, Head Coach Kevin Murphy’s teams have struck fear in opponents throughout the state on their way to being recognized as a national powerhouse. Making waves on every level across the country, Coach Murphy’s teams hold five consecutive state championships while his boys team ended the 2014-2015 season ranked first amongst public schools by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association. The Lady Dragons finished third in the public school rankings in the same poll, while ranking 20th in the public and private school poll. The Carroll program (boys and girls) finished sixth in the nation. As coach Kevin Murphy has built another dynasty in the city of Southlake, it’s become normal for the Carroll program to dominate year after year. Currently, both the boys and girls teams sit undefeated as they prepare for district meets. Don’t be surprised if the Dragons dominate the competition once again for an unprecedented 6th straight state championship.

 Season Update

The Dragons Swimming and Diving team has had much success this season as both the boys and girls teams have cruised to an undefeated season at 12-0, and Sr. -0 respectively. Having won every meet so far this season, Kevin Murphy’s team heads into district competition as confident as ever.

The Dragon Boys took home the Mansfield Invitational Trophy by an impressive nearly 600-point margin. The team set a few records along the way including one in the 200-meter medley relay. The team of Alex Morau, JP Reppeto, Alex Zettlle and Landon Jensen finished with a time of 1:38.27. In addition, the boys 200-meter free relay team also established a new meet record at Mansfield as the team of Landon Jensen, Landon Armstrong, Logan Davis and Zach Lowery finished the competition in 1:28.36. The girls team has already gotten its revenge against last year’s 6A State champion Austin Westlake, defeating them by 64 points in the North Tisca Invitational Swim/Dive Meet earlier this season. With three meets left, the Dragons look to end 2016 on top once again.

“Although we still have significant steps to take through District 10-6A and Region 3-6A and on to the 2016 UIL 6A Texas State Meet, we appear, on paper, to be the favorites. As everyone stays healthy and focused our Dragon Boys should be difficult to overcome at the conclusion of this season.”

Kevin Murphy

“How we fare through the District 10-6A Meet in one week and the Region 3-6A Meet in three weeks will go far to determining exactly where our Dragon girls fit in UIL Texas 6A Swimming & Diving competition in Austin in five weeks.”

Kevin Murphy
