Brittany Tew, Southlake native and reigning Miss Dallas, invites the community to lace up their running shoes and head to Bachman Lake for the Miss Dallas 5K. Scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2016, the chip-timed race will benefit the United Leukodystrophy Foundation (ULF), an organization that serves individuals and families affected by leukodystrophy. Early registration is $25 and can be done at MissDallas5K.com.
Tew, a 20-year-old senior at Baylor University, is using her year of service as Miss Dallas to promote her platform, “Triumphing over Tragedy,” based on her inspiring story of hope after two of her younger sisters passed away from a rare brain disease (Leukodystrophy). She aspires to raise awareness and funds for the ULF through this race so that someday a cure can be found. Her book, Triumphing over Tragedy, also benefits the ULF.
