GC Divers, a top-rankedbrcompetitive dive team based in Southlake, competed in the USA Diving Synchronized National Championships in San Antonio earlier this month. HaileybrHernandez and Rachel Dickerson earned second place in both 1 meter and 3 meterbrin the girls 13U competition. Competing in boys’ 13U, Jackson Miller and BradybrRuth clinched second place in 3 meter, and fifth place in 1 meter. Some of thebryoungest competitors in girls 13U, Dillan DeLugo and Kamryn Wong placed seventhbrin 1 meter and 10th in 3 meter.
In the 14-18 girlsbrdivision, Bridget O'Neil and Maysi Richards placed seventh in 3 meter. Whilebrteammates Summer Westover and Allison Ward earned 22nd place in 3 meter, amongbra field of 35 teams.
During the competition, Carroll senior and state champion Nate Hernandez competed to qualify for thebr2016 Olympic Qualifying Trials, but fell short. Jeff Bro coaches the GC Divers nationalbrteam. Last year, the team earned first-place scores in the boys and girls teamsbrat the USA Diving National Competition in Orlando, Florida.
