GC Divers, a top-ranked competitive dive team based in Southlake, competed in the USA Diving Synchronized National Championships in San Antonio earlier this month. Hailey Hernandez and Rachel Dickerson earned second place in both 1 meter and 3 meter in the girls 13U competition. Competing in boys’ 13U, Jackson Miller and Brady Ruth clinched second place in 3 meter, and fifth place in 1 meter. Some of the youngest competitors in girls 13U, Dillan DeLugo and Kamryn Wong placed seventh in 1 meter and 10th in 3 meter.

In the 14-18 girls division, Bridget O’Neil and Maysi Richards placed seventh in 3 meter. While teammates Summer Westover and Allison Ward earned 22nd place in 3 meter, among a field of 35 teams.

During the competition, Carroll senior and state champion Nate Hernandez competed to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Qualifying Trials, but fell short. Jeff Bro coaches the GC Divers national team. Last year, the team earned first-place scores in the boys and girls teams at the USA Diving National Competition in Orlando, Florida.
