Save the Date for Huge Charity Garage Sale

May 05, 2016 07:52AM ● Published by Audrey Sellers

Someone else’s spring-cleaning discoveries could end up being your new treasures. But you’ll never know unless you attend the annual parish garage sale at Good Shepherd Catholic Community. The Good Shepherd Women’s Group is hosting the three-day sale May 12-14 with a goal of earning $25,000 for charity. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur, Loving Care Pregnancy Center, the Holy Trinity Catholic School Tuition Assistance Program and Women’s Group Senior Scholarships.

There are three chances to take part in the garage sale:

Thursday, May 12, 5 to 8 p.m.

The Early Bird Preview and Purchase Sale is a great opportunity for those wanting a first look—especially estate-sale pros. Shoppers can pay a $10 entry fee to preview and purchase items before the garage sale opens to the public on Friday.

Friday, May 13, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Let the shopping begin! The garage sale officially opens to the public on Friday. Stop by to browse hundreds of gently used items ranging from furniture, appliances and other home products, to goods for babies and children, as well as books, sporting goods, jewelry, gifts and clothing. There will be a furniture shop, a boutique featuring high-end items of all kinds and a seasonal/holiday shop.

Saturday, May 14, 7 to 9 a.m.

Stop by Saturday morning for the $10 bag sale. Bargain shoppers can purchase 30-gallon trash bags for $10 each and fill each bag to the top with any items remaining from Friday’s sale. All remaining furniture will be discounted 50 percent from Friday’s price.
