Summertime brings plenty of opportunities to give back to the community. After all, during everyone’s busy season, it’s hard to take some time out of one’s busy schedule to join others in community activities. However, once the weather gets warm and the pool water finally gets to that perfect temperature, adults and children are finally ready to come out and play.

On June 17 from noon to 4 p.m., Heroes for Children is hosting its annual golf tournament to raise money for families with children battling cancer. Hosted at Top Golf in Allen, the yearly summer golf competition welcomes attendees of all ages to hydrate, eat scrumptious food and enter to win awards, raffles and prizes during the three hours of summertime fun.

As a charitable organization, Heroes for Children offers financial and social assistance to families with children fighting cancer. Since 2005, the philanthropic institution has raised more than $5.5 million for more than 4,000 families in need.

To register for the event, visit Tickets cost $120 for adults and $60 for children 17 and under.
