Kids Matter International Celebrates 10 Years with Inaugural 5K

Care for a jaunt around Bicentennial Park? Join in the inaugural Lend a Hand 5K Run/Walk on August 27 at 7:30 a.m. The chip-timed event is a celebration of a decade of Kids Matter International and includes music, food trucks and a special “Kids Mile” for little ones to raise awareness for children in need.

Funds raised through the event will benefit Kids Matter’s largest programs including Around the Block, which provides new clothes, shoes and more for disadvantaged children in the community, as well as Ramp-Up Reading, which supports literacy education.

"We are so excited to commemorate our 10th anniversary and hold our first-ever 5K Walk/Run in the community we’ve called home for the past 10 years," says Selena Richey, development coordinator. "This event is a testament to how we have grown and are continuing to raise awareness about children in need. We are looking forward to having families and businesses participate to share our mission and learn more about getting involved with our organization. It will be a fun event for all, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in Bicentennial Park."
