For preschoolers at ThebrGoddard School in Southlake, aviation is spelled f-u-n. The school recentlybrwrapped up a weeklong aviation campaign designed to take S.T.E.A.M. (science, brtechnology, engineering, art and math) learning to new levels.
Southlake resident andbrcommercial pilot Cathy Almand visited the school wearing her military pilotbruniform and gave preschoolers the chance to try on actual pilot gear. Studentsbralso got hands-on with aviation crafts and paper-airplane flying.
The week culminated in anbrOpen House that included an opportunity for families to climb on board abrhelicopter and watch it take off. The activities and helicopter tour werebrdesigned to support critical-thinking skills and collaboration as well asbrfoster a love of S.T.E.A.M. and teach learning through play.
