Want to interact withbradorable, adoptable animals during your workday? Here's your chance. Operation Kindness, North Texas’ original and largest no-kill animal shelter, hasbrlaunched the Companies Who Care program to allow area professionals a way tobrstep out of the office and volunteer with animals. The program is designed tobrnot only enhance employee health and productivity, but to raise funds andbrawareness for the shelter.
“North Texans have alwaysbrbeen known for their generosity, and for this, we are forever grateful to be abrpart of the Dallas-Fort Worth community,” said Jim Hanophy, CEO of OperationbrKindness, in a press release. “In the past year, we have had more than 28brcompanies step out of their office to volunteer at our campus. The support ofbrcorporate sponsors allowed us to save more than 4,500 lives in 2015, and we arebraiming to help many more in 2016.”
As a part of the corporatebrgiving program, companies can arrange for a Work Paws Playdate to havebrOperation Kindness bring socialized puppies, dogs and sometimes kittens to anybrlocal workplace. This unique program treats employees to a “Cuteness Break,”brfeaturing playtime with adoptable pets and “fur therapy” of dog kisses and catbrpurrs. Playdates are limited and arranged with a sponsorship fee on abrfirst-come, first-served basis.
Companies are alsobrencouraged to participate in Kindness, Inc., a unique team-building program designedbrto encourage teamwork, philanthropy and career development by bringing thebroffice together for a full day of team exercises and interactions with cutebranimals. Hosted by Steve A. Klein, CEO of Professional Development Center,bremployees participate in corporate training featuring three different workshopsbrthat focus on understanding communication styles, increasing teamwork andbrimproving intentional communication. Kindness, Inc. is designed for groups ofbr10 to 20 employees. Each participant is provided lunch, a team T-shirt andbrcertificate of participation for $250 per employee.
