Taking care of our nation's children is a duty all adultsbrshould take part in, especially when there are so many without proper food,brshelter and education. On September 17, support low-income children in the 17thbrAnnual Run in the Dark hosted by Community Storehouse, the only Children's Charity in Northeast TarrantbrCounty that is focused on keeping children in the classroom.
Join Community Storehouse and over 3,000 runners andbrspectators in a family-friendly evening consisting of a 5K and 1-mile Fun Runbrthat help fund educational programs for children at or below the poverty levelbrin KISD, NISD and CISD. This year alone, over 12,000 students have qualifiedbrfor assistance in these school districts.
The first 1,000 finishers of the 1-mile run will receive abrglow-in-the-dark wristband. Awards for the finishers of the 5K will bebrdistributed as well. Thebrsuperintendent will award the Run in the Dark Storehouse Cup to the school withbrthe highest amount of attendance and participation.
Thebrlargest registered team (corporation, business, churches, etc.) will receivebrthe Community Team Cup and will receive the honor of keeping the Community TeambrCup the whole year.
