Carve Out Some Fun This Fall at Vetro

Sep 30, 2016 07:51AM ● Published by Audrey Sellers

At Vetro Glassblowing Studio and Gallery in historic downtown Grapevine, pumpkin carving takes on a unique twist with the help of professional glassblowers and a 2,000-degree furnace. Participants of all ages can help-create a one-of-a-kind glass pumpkin to display every year. Or, select your favorite from Vetro’s “pumpkin patch” of beautifully created pumpkins and gourds in all shapes and sizes made by the Vetro team of professional glassblowers.

The pumpkin help-create events combine the ancient art of glassblowing with a fun, interactive experience. Participants begin by selecting from five fall colors and applying it to the hot molten glass. The colored glass is heated in the 2,000-degree furnace and participants (ages 14 and older) assist the artist while the glass pumpkin is blown out and shaped.

Due to the annealing process, pumpkins will be available for pick-up the next business day after 3 p.m. (Pumpkins made on Saturday will be available for pick-up the following Tuesday.)

Gather up your family for a fun new tradition! Here’s the schedule:

Friday, October 7 – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
