At Southlake Style’s inaugural Women’s Luncheon on October 14 at The Marq, keynote speaker Kim Garrett spoke from the heart—and touched the hearts—of more than 250 women in attendance.

Garrett, a Fort Worth native, mom, author and former Facebook executive, took attendees on a poignant journey through her childhood and into her adult years. Garrett also shared stories from her book, “Roll With It.” Her honesty and realness resonated with the audience, with many attendees commenting on Garrett’s impactful message of perseverance.

Garrett concluded her talk with an emotional reading of lyrics from Sara Bareilles’ “Brave,” a song that has special significance to her.

Guests enjoyed a catered lunch from Trio New American Cuisine, along with swag bags featuring a bracelet from Collections by Joya, gift certificates from local restaurants and spas, and other exciting items.

Lisa Rose, founder of The Gatehouse, a Grapevine nonprofit that provides a supportive living community for women and children in crisis, also took a few moments to speak about the organization and share ways the community can get involved. Ten percent of proceeds benefitted The Gatehouse.

A special thank you to event sponsors Collections by Joya, Celebrity Cruises, Nicole Smith Realtor, Solis Mammography and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake.
