Apex Arts League has somebrseasonal delights in store for the community: For the third year, it's bringing Avant Chamber Ballet to White’s Chapel UMC on November 17 at 7:30 p.m. ThebrDallas-based nonprofit ballet will perform an expanded one-act Nutcracker withbrlive music and everyone’s favorite characters. The production will build on thebrsuccess last season, including new and expanded sections from the Christmasbrclassic and new costumes in a family-friendly, one-hour performance.
This year, in addition tobrthe 15 professional dancers, a cast of 38 students from schools all over DFW, werebrselected from two days of auditions.
“We look forward tobrcoming to Southlake each year,” said artistic director Katie Cooper, in a pressbrrelease. “It doesn't seem like the season without Nutcracker but as a dancerbrwho grew up performing it many times, it's great to be able to something abrlittle bit different. We skip some of the storytelling sections and focus onbreveryone's favorite dancing which makes it an easier and shorter production forbrkids in the audience, too.”
Tickets are availablebronline at Apex-Arts.org or at the door. $20 for adults; $15 for seniors, studentsbrand Apex members.
