November 10 will be a daybrof celebration in Southlake—the City of Southlake is hosting two groundbreakingbrceremonies to kick off the construction for final phases of The Marq andbrBicentennial Park. Groundbreaking for The Marq Southlake Champions Club is at 8bra.m. at The Marq; the ceremony for Bicentennial Park Phase 3 is at 10 a.m. atbrthe Southlake Tennis Center.
The 84,000-square-footbrChampions Club will include spaces for fitness, performance training,brgymnasium, indoor jog/walk track, indoor aquatics, indoor playground, partybrrooms, child care and multipurpose classrooms for various programs. With nobradditional tax increase for Southlake residents, phase two is funded bybrCommunity Enhancement Development Corporation (CEDC) bonds, which were approvedbrby voters May 2015. It's scheduled to open summer 2018.
Phase 3 of BicentennialbrPark, an $8.8 million project funded by the Southlake Parks and DevelopmentbrCorporation (SPDC, includes a new building and enclosed courts for thebrSouthlake Tennis Center, trail system completion, synthetic turf field atbrcurrent in-line hockey court, landscape and irrigation enhancements, and parkbramenities enhancements. Certain elements of Bicentennial Park phase three arebranticipated to be completed by 2018.
