Light Up Your Night at the 34th Annual XTO Energy Parade of Lights

Nov 09, 2016 07:44AM ● By Audrey Sellers

Set the holidays aglow in brilliant fashion at the 34th annual XTO Energy Parade of Lights in downtown Fort Worth. Join the crowd of spectators from across North Texas to view hundreds of illuminated floats and a half a million lights. The festive fun kicks off at 6 p.m. on November 20.

The Parade of Lights has become one of Fort Worth’s most beloved traditions—and it’s also the largest illuminated holiday parade in Texas. In addition to the decorated floats, the parade will also display brilliant antique cars, lively marching bands, precision equestrian units, horse-drawn carriages, and groups of carolers celebrating “The Melodies of Christmas” on the 1.58-mile parade route. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be making an appearance on the specially designed, LED-lit, grand finale float, sponsored by parade producers, Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives, Inc.

Fort Worth police officer Matt Pearce is serving as the 2016 Parade of Lights’ grand marshal. Other confirmed participants include Mayor Betsy Price and other city leaders, title sponsor XTO Energy, official vehicle of the parade and Premier Float Sponsor GM Financial, and nonprofit organizations such as the Cowboy Santas Program, Inc. and the Fort Worth Bicycling Association, all coming together to light up the night and bring “The Melodies of Christmas" to downtown Fort Worth.

The event is free with reserved street seats available for $8.50 online. Visit for the full schedule of activities.
