Southlake native Larry Hinkle is home after “The Hump,” a 2,640-mile walk across the country to bring awareness to the nation’s veterans and first responders. All are invited to a welcome home party for the disabled veteran and founder of the Phaseline Organization. The party kicks off at 7 p.m. December 2 at VFW Post #10454 (2221 N. Main Street in Grapevine).

Hinkle’s 2,640-mile walk called “The Hump” began on April 3 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He completed his journey November 9 in Camp Pendleton, California, where he was based as a United States Marine.

Stop by and congratulate Hinkle, and because it’s the season of giving, please bring a new, unwrapped toy. All toys will be donated to Toys for Tots, VFWs and homeless shelters.

For more information and ways to donate, visit TheHump.org.
