Are you feeling sluggish? Are holiday treats weighing you down? Then get moving! You still have time to lighten up this holiday season by training for the Dallas Jingle Bell Run! Since 2009, the Trinity Strand Trail and the Mavs Foundation have sponsored this family friendly and festive holiday race in the Metroplex. So strap on your sneakers and Santa hats and bring the whole family for either the one-mile walk or the 5K run through the Dallas Design District. This year’s race will take place Wednesday night, December 21, with the one-mile walk beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the 5K kicking off at 7 p.m. Online registration is available now, with reduced prices for kids 10 and under. Packet pick-up is at Luke’s Locker (on Mockingbird Lane near SMU) between December 17 through 20, and race-day registration opens at 4 p.m. the afternoon of the event. Every participant gets a T-shirt and bells, so be prepared to jingle all the way through Dallas!

You can register your entire family or group at DallasJingleBellRun.com  Both the one-mile run and the 5K are open to well- socialized and non-aggressive dogs and to stroller-pushers. After your race is complete, be sure to stick around for post-race festivities at the Hilton Anatole, complete with food, music and beverages for the entire family, with entertainment by the Mavs Dancers and the Crazy ManiAACs. Bonus: Parking is free! Proceeds from the race support the Mavs Foundation and the Strand Trail.
