Get ready for a jazzed-up Saturday night—The APEX Arts League presents The One O’Clock Lab Band in concert on Saturday, March 4 at 7 p.m. at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church for its ninth-annual APEX Jazz Festival.

The One O’Clock, under the new and exciting direction of Alan Baylock, is the premier performing jazz ensemble from the internationally acclaimed University of North Texas’ Jazz Studies Program. The One O’Clock is a seven-time Grammy-nominated ensemble and has produced a multitude of great composers, performers and educators all throughout the world, recording more than 60 albums in its tenure.

Three local and highly talented high school jazz bands will open the program, performing commissioned pieces written by composition students at UNT. The high school bands include the Carroll Jazz Orchestra from Carroll Senior High School; the Jazz Ensemble from Plano Senior High School; and the Lab Band 1 from Denton High School.

Tickets are available at the door or online for $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and APEX members.
