Carroll Middle School students Calder Bray and Quinn Ewers recently showcased their talent on the gridiron. The Dragons were selected to try out for the Under Armour All-America football team last month at Cedar Hill High School in Dallas. Both boys made the team.

The Under Armour All-America Camp Series’ middle school platform is open to all athletes in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. Middle school camps are designed to teach fundamentals, individual skills and group work. The curriculum focuses on preparing athletes for the events and settings they will compete in during their middle school years and when they ultimately reach high school.

Camps are held nationwide to gather the country’s top talent. NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders taught at Bray and Ewers’ camp, which had 180 athletes. The Dragons were two of five boys from their camp asked to advance to the all-star game that will be aired in January 2018 on ESPN.
